Middle Eastern blog-a-rama
One of the best discussions I have seen on nomadlife so far - a 5-way face-veiling blogathon between Luly, Tamer, Nisrin, Me and Assem.
Its pretty awesome stuff - thoughts from 3 coutries, 5+ nationalities (depending on how many you count for Nisrin) and 23 comments. The Middle Eastern bloggers are definitely getting it going on here on nomadlife. And we are two down at the moment, with Bowman representing big time in Kenya, and Soad in Macedonia.

Ah the topic of being veiled never ceases to amaze me. I remember last year when Roudy was in hospital there were pictures of veiled women - face veiled - all over the place and here I was walking around in my shorts and t-shirt supporting Roudy after his surgery.
One of the most interesting discussions I had was with Heba, Hadia and Mai from AUC and finding out if and why they could get veiled. To hear someone say yes amazed me but I loved learning why and trying to understand.
I don't think I ever can but I will never group all veiled woman as one. They are each different with their own stories and personalities and when you get behind being afraid to approach them I think only then can you start to understand.
