One More Thing...
Just saw this video in class today. It might be of interest for all those interested in where journalism and the media is heading towards. Granted, it's a fictitious take on things, but still... It's pretty funny and scary at the same time. Definitely worth 8 minutes of your life to watch it:

My favorite quote from the video is:
"The New York Times has become a print only newsletter for the elite and the elderly."

Watching that, with all of its specific dates for these computer-based events, kept making me think of "Terminator 2: Judgement Day". It raises interesting thoughts, and yet the scariest thing is I still think it underestimates the amount of change that will happen....

sheila you realize that your flash video and dody's presentation of les blogs are completely at ends with eachother. if bloggers are called journalists and weblog content becomes a "press activity," freedom of speech is preserved for bloggers, so says les blogs, but the same can serve to make a big mess of ersatz "journalism," without the same standards of ethics

Jesse, what's your definition of ersatz journalism? Journalism of the likes of FOX or other news organizations that produce more fluffy (haha) stories than hard news?
In my opinion, the real threat to both bloggers and traditional journalism and their rights of speech and press is the influence of giant corporations, many times influencing what we see/read and how it's put together (unbeknownst to the audience or not). I feel that many times, we are being played and we don't even realize it.

as long as first amendement still held high and sacred, we'll be ok.
The giant corporation or government cannot rule the Internet. They tried before and failed miserably.
We, the people, have spoken to each other.
