New York Times chronicles the preparation for Katrina before it hit. The bottom line, none of preparation anticipated the leeves to break.
The American public raised 94 million dollars in three days. Most of the people that are stuck in New Orleans are old and poor who could not afford or did not have the means to leave the city. Walking miles out of town was not an option if you have babies or small children.
One of the rescue organization urges people to donate $100 so it can feed two families for two days. Wow; I'm used to the idea when they say $100 can feed two families for one month.
I think we will have Mardi Gras 2006 in New Orleans and it would be the biggest Mardi Gras ever.
