The great American sport, blame game, is underway. Bring popcorn. You are watching liberal democracy in action (people cursing their government in the open, etc); It's time like these where a government have to earn their pay.

This mess will not be cleaned up by the next election cycle in 2006, which should make for some definate entertainment.
Moreover, I hope that this brings the plight of poor people in the south to the forefront of the debates. Poverty in the US is rising, even with all of the "low unemployment" etc. Hopefully this will be the issue, particularly in the south, but all over the US as well.
Id love to see a resurgence of black activism as well. There are a ton of black people, many forgotten and poor in the south, and there just isnt any black representation in national politics. Hopefully some new blood emerges and unites a people who have been abused by the US poltical system.
Many around the world will see this as an event to show the impotence of American Democracy, but what they wont realize, that will hopefully materialize, is the ability for the US Democracy to adapt when the people will it so.
