"A series of explosions shook New Delhi on Saturday, tearing through markets jammed with shoppers ahead of an upcoming Hindu festival and killing at least 49 people, officials said." (AP)
Man, this scared me when I read this story.... I visited Delhi during my traineeship to India last year, and I've been to the exact place where the attack happened (Sarojini Nagar). I just got out my photo album and looked at the pictures I took of the marketplace there; it was such a nice place and it I'm incredibly saddened to hear this news.
I already had plans to return to Delhi next year for work... I'm not going to let this stop me. The world can sometimes be an unpredictable and dangerous place, but this is no reason not to travel. To be honest I'm probably just as much at risk here in Australia as I am anywhere.
My deepest condolonces go out to the people of Delhi. Your city and your country does not deserve this shameful act. My heart is with you.
hey people, and what i should say? I have my flight to India tomorrow and I will be in Delhi on Tuesday morning....But I really hope everything will be alright... L.
