I almost bought a 12" powerbook last summer because it was everything I wanted: Light, good looking, wireless built in, slot CD drive. There were two problems: No PCMCIA slot and it ran the MAC OS.
They were freakin' cheap too, like $800 on Ebay.

Damn, I am so very close to switching!

Man if they could just lower that price premium, the business they could have...

they can't compete on price. Dell would have eaten their lunch.
Beside, majority of their profits come from Ipod anyway. Mac is just a sideshow.

I just got my powerbook last august - and I want one of these now!! Doh!

If you havent seen the webcast of the announcement yet, do so. Its about 1.5 hrs but absolutely fascinating and will sell anyone to Apple products. And don't miss the new Ad with Intel, simply hilarious!

FYI, this new machine will run Windows Vista, which is due out later on this year.

The only thing that is bunk is the name, sounds like McDonalds food. The key is applying new technology in the system u'r running. Honestly, after running Tiger windows seem aggravating.
In addition, if anyone is interested Apple is hiring in Austin. Send me an email to vhs509@hotmail.com if you're interested.

The macbook is not going to be able to run windows vista or any windows os. Nor will any mac ever do. That would go against all Apple stands for. They only make apple computers for macintosh operating system.
