Somehow I guess I rather stick with the old than the new... and so I would definitely not take into consideration the Eiffel tower, the Opera House or the Statue of Liberty.
Things like Machu Picchu, The Great Wall, Easter Island Statues, Chichen Itza, Petra etc. ... these creations somehow never cease to amaze me... but I am not sure I would be able to select only 7 :o)).

I agree - while all the things on the list, I'm sure, are NICE and would be a good visit, somehow I'm now that convinced that things like the Eiffle Tower and Rio's Christ the Redeemer is more of a wonder then the Great Wall, Machu Pichu, and the Taj Mahal...
No offense, but something about the list just looks weird.

I agree. A real wonder needs to be show stopping.
The Eiffel Tower is beautiful, but not necessarily wonderful...
Not like the Pyramids, Ankor or Petra are. Those are things that you couldn't see ever being replaced...

I would have to agree with all that's been said, and I'd also have to say that going through the list of 21, i found trouble, not voting for only 7, but finding 7 that I could compare to the hanging gardens, the great lighthouse, the mausoleum, or the colossus.
That said, here's my list:
Pyramids
Machu Picchu
Petra
Timbuktu
Great Wall
Angkor
Alhambra
Sherif (this being my name, not an eighth wonder)
4:48 AM
Taj Mahal
Pyramids of Giza
Angkor Wat
Eiffel Tower
Great Wall
Machu Picchu
Kyomizu Temple
7:36 AM
kind of hard to choose given that I havent seen most of them but I agree about the opera house, statue of liberty and christ the redeemer not being "up there"...
having said that, I think that The Great Wall, Macchu Pichu, Angkor, Pyramids, Taj mahal are absolute musts.

comparing the Eiffel tower, opera house and statue of liberty to the great wall of china, pyramids and others sounds rediculous.
I'd stck to the old ones, but replace the ones that no not exist anymore - like the lighthouse in Alexandria - that's gone!
11:04 AM
I'm going with the lighthouse in Port Isabel and Coastal Banc in San Benito.
12:49 PM
All of the ancient wonders have been destroyed, except the pyramids, correct?
2:22 PM
Yes Trent..that is correct..the pyramids are the only ones still there, which is more the reason for them to be voted as a wonder in my opinion.
If i was to add to the list, i'd want to see the leaning tower of Pisa.
2:31 PM
was'nt Taj Mahal, one of the ancient wonders?? It's still there..
4:21 PM
Taj Mahal is not on the list.
These are the ancient 7 wonders.
The Great Pyramid
The Hanging Gardens
The Temple of Artemis
The Statue of Zeus
The Mausoleum
The Colossus of Rhodes
The Pharos of Alexandria
5:26 PM
I built a really awesome snowfort in 4th grade that I'd like to see considered...
