US not certain North Korea has nuclear weapons
The United States cannot say for certain that North Korea possesses any nuclear weapons but believes Pyongyang has continued to produce plutonium from its 5-megawatt Yongbyon reactor, top intelligence officials said on Tuesday.
"We assess that they probably have nuclear weapons, as they claim that they do. But we don't know for a fact that they've got such weapons ... So to then say with precision the number they've got, I think, would be difficult to do with our level of knowledge..." read more.
I wonder what will happen when USA decides that North Korea has the weapons...

well, if we're not sure, there's only one way to find out..you know rummy wants to go in there tomorrow, the problem is bush has a very low approval rating because he recently sided with a UAE company ("the arabs") on port protection..sooooooo youll have to wait sometime until next year for this invasion..

I think the USA will stay out of this one. I'd look to Japan and its redefined "defense force" to be the actor, if it comes to that.
I read somewhere that Japan, while not possessing nuclear weapons, could produce a nuclear weapon and a deployment system within 6 months, if needed. But it would require a constitutional amendment to build one (which from my understanding of Japanese constitutional law [limited], wouldnt be that hard).

Would actually anyone know the stand of China on this topic? I assume China might side North Korea regarding the political system of this country!?
