Brazil Football Camp : Weggis, Switzerland
The village of Weggis on Lake Lucerne scored big by hosting Brazil's football team for two weeks of training before the World Cup kickoff in Germany. The locals have gone football mad, along with thousands of other Swiss, who are flocking to Weggis to catch a glimpse of Ronaldinho and Co in action. (Source: swissinfo)Sorry that the sites aren't in English. But it gives you an idea of the frenzy the presence of the Selecao is currently causing over here in Switzerland, especially in my hometown of Weggis (3900 inhabitants), a small tourist resort. But it's cool in a way. Especially cool to say that I live in Weggis (well, not during my studies of course) :-) I have a ticket for this Thursday's morning training, can't wait! Yeah, I will see Ronaldinho etc. live!!

This just might be a Weggis version of the Geneva Lake parade!
Have fun!

Thanks, quite sure I will ;-) Checked out the atmosphere last weekend, and it's crazy! Maybe almost too crazy for the Brazilian Team, who knows. They have so-called "Lake Police" patrolling in front of the Hotel the Selecao is staying at (www.phw.ch), and hundreds of international reporters are covering the event (CNN and even Al Jazeera). We had a Brazilian reporter staying at our house last SAT cuz he couldn't find a hotel anymore.

Carissa, i had part of the fun, watching the Brasil game tonight Against FC Luzern. No need to mention the Result (8-0) but the atmosphere was great, i loved it :)
And it looks like those brasilien reporter are all over the place :) 2 of them are now in our appartment, for the same reason: no more place to stay, But it's also cool to experience that :)
Have fun !!
