Don't go to the water
"Australia?s first recorded shark attack was in 1791. As of August 2006, there had been a total of 668 attacks in Australian waters, 191 of them fatal, according to the Australian Shark Attack File at Sydney?s Taronga Zoo." (msnbc)

Don't worry sharks in Australia, worry about kangaroos. Although I don't have the evidence in front of me, I'm sure kangaroos kill far more Australians than sharks, spiders and snakes combined.
A kangaroo hopping onto the highway at dusk is a very dangerous animal for people travelling in a vehicle at 100+ km/h.
