"But the effect is not making men into raving beasts. On the contrary: The onslaught of porn is responsible for deadening male libido in relation to real women, and leading men to see fewer and fewer women as "porn-worthy." Far from having to fend off porn-crazed young men, young women are worrying that as mere flesh and blood, they can scarcely get, let alone hold, their attention" (New York Magazine)

that sounds scary. porn is a wondeful thing, but there is absolutely no contest with the real thing. i remember writing a paper. in college on, why porn was not bad - but if its doing this "deadening male libido in relation to real women" - then i say -
" guys get a life "- there is no porn on this planet that can compare with the reality of a warm female body lying next to you.

that article doesn't make sense on so many levels that it is hardly worth taking to pieces....but...
if anyone actually knows one guy, anywhere, who is actually less interested in real women now because of pornography, then the writer of this piece certainly didn't manage to find him.
and the writers complaint that the market value of a normal naked women is decreasing doesnt sound very feministy to me - it sounds more like she is bitter that as an ordinary looking woman she can no longer use the possibility of sleeping with her as a valuable bargaining chip.
if this trainwreck of an article is the best case against porn that a modern feminist can come up with then feminism has some big problems.
