One of the greatest (cricket) test matches ever played...Bow down to the champions!
Its only this cricket team in the world who can manage such a feat!Trailing England's first innings total of 551 for 6 wickets (declared) , and at the end of day 4 - England being 59 - 1, everyone thought (and I mean everyone) this game is heading towards a lame draw. But Ricky Ponting, the captain of the Australian cricket team and his men had something else planned for the English team.
Day 5 morning dawns - and with a little over 3 overs to spare - you check the score card and it says Aussies pull off a dramatic victory!
I was shocked to see this - and read the scorelines, and I was completely blown away. England bowled out for 129 and then Michael Hussey (this guy frikkin never gets out) and Ricky Ponting - who has been electrifying with the bat this series, breeze away for an unbelievable victory!
Congratulations to the best cricketing team I have seen for a long time. The Indian cricket team needs to learn a lot on how to nail it when it comes to such situations - if they want to have a fair chance in the upcoming world cup!

What a crushing defeat - and a real psychological beating for the English. Even if you manage to declare on 550 at the end of day 2, we'll still beat you.
Hussey is unbelievably good. He holds the record for scoring the most runs before being selected for his national team - over 15,000 runs before he ever got a game with Australia. In English country cricket he has made three triple-hundreds.
He is averaging 81 in test matches, and 77 in one day matches - with a strike rate just under 100 in one day games. Amazing player. The next captain of Australia.

But he's 31?
All the people at work yesterday were either checking the score online or listening to the radio.
The country stopped for cricket yesterday.

tom...I think the next Aussie captain will be Michael Clarke. see cricket.nomadlife.org for nmore elucidation.
Hussey is 31. He will not be around too much longer once Punter decides to call it a day. Pup will be the captain...and what a captain he could turn out to be.
