737 graveyard

Yet another crash in Indonesia. It's a Garuda, which is actually the best run airline in Indonesia. Check out how the pilots discuss this crash.
Indonesia has one of the more extensive and frequent flight network in the world due to the nature of its geography. During my two weeks stay recently, I flew 8 times. The open sky policy has created a fierce competition in the domestic airlines industry. I paid 24 dollars for one hour flight on an aging 737. The budget airlines have mushroomed in the past five years to fulfill the great demand for quick transport accross the massive archipelago.
Most of the airlines employ leased 737 as their main workhorses. You might be aware of another quite recent Adam Air explosion over Sulawesi which was also a 737. Last week there was also another landing accident of another Adam Air 737 in Surabaya which broke the frame of the plane although it thankfully produced no fatality.
We have had one airline accident every month this year. January, February and March. Talk about consistency.

Dody, which airlines in Indonesia are decent and safe? Chances are that I might become a regular customer one day ...

Garuda and its budget cousin, citilink are the best run.
Don't fly Adam Air.
