Ok, Donald Trump owned. And although the Japanese delegate was really pretty, the general audience/polls show Miss Venezuela was by far prettier, classier and more refined that Miss Japan. But with the political situation in Venezuela USA could afford having a Venezuelan Miss Universe. That would have allowed Chavez the possibility of flaunting this to the world. So sad, because she was absolutely drop dead gorgeous.

Miss Japan
Conveniently the winner. Once again, very pretty. But much prettier will be the businesses Trump will be able to make now. Another way of indulging Asia.

Miss Brazil
So hot! Although a tad too slutty for a Miss Universe beauty queen.

Changes in the beauty patterns
Positive remark, the fact that you can now see many more Asian people in the finals. As supposed as the usual 60% Latinas, 30% Europeans, 10% Asians + Africans. Beauty is becoming more global and these contests are showing it. Yet, the smile of Latinas, oh my...

Previous Miss Universe not too happy about it... at all
Miss Universe 2006 from Puerto Rico passed the crown to Miss Japan. She was NOT happy at all. Perhaps she had thought she would pass it to another Latina. Instead, she had to pass it to the Miss of the same country she competed and won against last year in the top two finalists. By the way, I think Miss Japan last year was prettier than this year's.

Mexicans and USA
They booed Miss USA mainly for two reasons:
- Miss USA "took" the spot that probably Miss Mexico could have taken if the first one had not been put in the final top 5 (even after falling flat on her butt on the stage)
- immigration policies towards Mexico
Regardless the reason, the contestant is not guilty of it, and should have been respected, even with her sore butt.

FINAL comment
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and does not recognize nationalities. They were all gorgeous women. Entertaining at least.
