Personal lobbying is putting it mildly.
Putin actually made the final presentation to the Olympic Committee IN ENGLISH!
This is something he doesn't even do at joint press conferences with Bush and Blair.
Anyone catch the speech? It sounded like he was actually rallying troops to war - complete with swinging arms and dramatic tones...

Totally agree with Pierre, i couldnt believe my ears and eyes, that Putin was speaking in english. All this time i thought that he couldnt speak english (a lot of ppl in Russia believe that).
If the Ads are anything to go by, i think the Logo would try to break some more stereotypes about Russia. Let's wait and see.

guatemala sure has been crazy the last week with all the olympic stuff. Putin stayed in the hotel next to my apartment, police with huge machine guns lined the streets, and its been pretty much all anyone could talk about lately.
