women, business, emerging economies
"In the interviews collected in the book, there is a little of everything: from young girls who fling themselves at the chance of being the traffickers' lovers to prostitutes who confess that sleeping with a young trafficker carrying an assault rifle makes them sexually excited. There are those who afirm that they do it because they want to seem touch, confronting the police like the men do: "We need to show that we are equal to men," says one of the young women interviewed, who insists that she doesn't take drugs to be more alert. And there are those who say they do it to guarantee their childrens' food.
