Musharraf giving his speech
Right now, Al Jazeera has it live...
So far he is sounding like he won't budge. "Stand firm" etc...
No declaration of emergency rule just yet, but I'll keep you updated...
UPDATE - Resigned!
Is resigning "to stop the downfall of the country and move Pakistan toward the path of development"
"I am happy to be resigning in front of a free and vibrant media, and I hope they continue to play that role long into the future"

Musharraf's relationship with the press is a funny one. When he launched his coup, he did so by taking over TV stations around Pakistan.
Then, surprisingly for a military dictator, he actually allowed more and more TV stations and newspapers to start operations than Pakistan ever had.
Journalist friends from Pakistan tell me that they've experienced so much freedom under Musharraf, it's probably what led to his downfall in the first place...

As a Pakistani, it's a time of serious reflection.
I put some initial thoughts here.
