Hey people,

Following on from the post below. I've started two new blogs, hiphop.nomadlife.org and literature.nomadlife.org. While they are getting up and running, I am looking for contributors for both.

Hip Hop - The idea behind this blog will be to discuss news and developments in this important and influential subcultures. Music-wise, we will be discussing both commercial and underground hip hop, album reviews, profiles of underground artists and industry news. The blog won't be limited to just music, but also graffiti, breakdancing, emceeing and any other aspects of the culture that contributors see fit to post about. Being a nomadlife blog, I'd love to see elements of hip hop culture blogged about from around the world, not just the USA.

Literature - The idea behind this blog is fairly simple: I for one, as an avid reader, like to share my thoughts on books I read, discuss them with others, and get ideas for other books to read. It would be cool to have a few discussions on important books happening, book reviews for people who want recommendations and maybe even a nomadlife book club where we read a particular book every month, for example, and then discuss it. Again, an international element to this would be cool, and it would be nice to feature authors from around the world, and not only in English.

I'm really hoping there'll be people interested in contributing to these blogs cos the whole community blogging concept isn't gonna work if its only one or two people contributing so please comment on this post if you're interested in getting involved in one or both of these blogs.

Hey Nomadlifers,

So I've been thinking for a while that perhaps a solution to the current situation of apathy/disconnection over the nomadlife home page and lack of community feeling is starting a group of community type blogs with numerous contributors. The example for this is the Ramadan blog, which I believe has been a pretty effective example of multiple contributors to a blog.

The topics for these could be varied, as broad as "literature" or as specific as, say, "Bollywood music"... or even moreso, it's up to y'all. We could also have these community blogs listed in a different, more prominent section of the nomadlife home page than the current blog updater, which would encourage people to read and contribute. I think it would be quite cool and I know I was intending to start one for 'hip hop' quite some time ago and never got around to it.

What do people think? Does it sound like something you'd want to contribute to? Any ideas for topics for these? Anyone? Bueller? Dody?
