Imperialism Protest in Turkey

Last week there was a small group of protestors that were walking down the street protesting Imperialism. They were shouting and holding up pictures of a man that was murdered named Deniz Olunmal?. I hate being in the dark and I had no idea who he was, so I immediately started searching on the internet for some more info. I found lots of Turkish articles that mention his name, but not a plethora of English translations. Can someone shed any more light-sources where I might find something (in English), or a translation in your own words kind of summary?

I believe this maybe one of the stories: http://www.sabah.com.tr/2004/05/07/siy110.html

My Turkish is not good enough for a full translation but I'm sure Devrim will oblige.

devrim, i found out that the guy's name is probably actually deniz gezmis, not deniz olumal?. because of my non-turkish ability, i couldn't tell the difference between what was a name and what wasn't. i also think he was some sort of political philosopher of sorts, and wrote about communism and socialism. anyway, i have no specific article in particular, i just want to know more info about this guy in general and if there's english reading material, his or stuff about him, out there. any insight would be greatly appreciated. :)

Deniz Gezmis is a leftist leader of the youth activists in Turkey, notably the "68 Movement" who was executed for "political crimes" 32 years ago. He is also known as the founder of the THKO.
